Summer Summary: A Rights & Licensing Update

Can you believe it’s October already? It was a busy summer in the rights department, so let’s get you up to speed.

  • We already have some great news for one of our Spring 2023 books. Otis & Peanut is a Junior Library Guild (JLG) selection! JLG is a curated book club of top-quality new children’s books for librarians across the United States and Canada. We are always happy to see our books get recognized by the editorial team.
  • Why Do We Fight? heads to Japan! Rights were sold for a hardcover and e-book edition.
  • The Korean market will get a wave of our titles as deals for Secret Schools: True Stories of the Determination to Learn, The Many Hats of Louie the Rat, and The Tunnel were successfully negotiated.
  • Our favorite bilingual duo is learning Portuguese! Rights for Pierre & Paul: Dragon! were sold to a Brazilian publisher. We look forward to seeing the English-Portuguese edition in the future.

Thanks for catching up on the latest rights news at Owlkids Books!
